DVB EVERTON DEBUT ENDS IN DEFEAT

Manchester United loanee Donny Van De Beek (DVB) made his debut for Everton during the Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St. James Park on Tuesday, but he was unable to celebrate occasion with either a goal or a win. Netherlands midfielder Van De Beek is on loan at Everton from fellow Premier League side Manchester United. The Netherlands national team star signed for the Toffees before the end of the winter transfer window last week.

Netherlands star Van De Beek was introduced to the Everton fans at Goodison Park last weekend alongside new signing Dele Alliwho signed for them on a permanent deal from North London side Tottenham Hotspur. Both Van De Beek and Alli could not make their respective debuts against West London team Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend, but they felt the love of the Everton fans while they were being introduced to them at the start of the FA Cup fourth round tie with the Bees. Without England midfielder Alli and Dutchman Van De Beek in the Everton squad, the Toffees were able to beatBrentford 4-1 at home to secure a place in the fifth round where they will meet non-league team Boreham Wood at Goodison Park for a place in the quarterfinals.

The Brentford game was the debut for Chelsea legend Frank Lampard in the Everton dugout. He made his Premier League debut against Newcastle United in a game that ended in a 3-1 defeat for his team with new signings Donny Van De Beek and Dele Alli coming on from the substitutes’ bench.

Englishman Alli was introduced into the Newcastle United game as a first half substitute for the injured Demarai Gray, while Netherlands player Van De Beek was subbed on in place of Andre Gomes in the second half.
